Guidelines for Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards
The IACTE Executive Board is excited about our organization’s eighth annual Outstanding Beginning Teacher Awards. We look forward to another successful awards ceremony at the 2020 spring event and for the opportunity to showcase teacher graduates who represent the essential work that we do in teacher preparation here in Illinois.
The following institutions have been designated to nominate one of their teacher graduates for this year’s awards ceremony:
These institutions have been designated to select one of their teacher graduates to be honored at this year’s awards ceremony. IACTE is endeavoring to take a number of proactive steps towards impacting the perceptions of stakeholders about the importance of the teaching and teacher education professions. We have been specifically targeting our state legislators, whose policies and decisions may have a direct impact on us and on our work preparing the next generations of teachers. To this end, we will once again honor legislators who champion education and host a legislative reception for all lawmakers at the Inn at 835, Springfield, IL. This legislative reception will be the venue during which our eighth cohort of outstanding beginning teachers will be honored on Tuesday, March 31, 2020. We hope that you will consider joining IACTE in this endeavor. On Wednesday, April 1, 2020, IACTE is planning a Day at the Statehouse. We cordially invite your outstanding beginning teacher and an institutional representative to attend. State lawmakers take great interest in the accomplishments of these outstanding new teachers.
Below you will find links to the guidelines to help you in your selection and a nomination form. We would appreciate your nomination for an outstanding beginning teacher as soon as possible, but not later than Monday, February 17, 2020. Nominations should be sent via email or mail to:
